‘Centerfold’ was a hit for The J. Geils Band, a well known rock band from the 80’s during the hair band era.

It was released in the fall of 1981, and eventually went to number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in February of 1982, and stayed there for six weeks. It was the first single released from the band's album Freeze Frame and was an early staple on MTV.

School must have been more lenient here.
The song and video are about a man, who is all grown up now and is shocked to discover that his childhood sweetheart is now a centerfold.

The video begins with girls in the school room in uniform and they soon become dressed in negligees’, and later transform to only sweaters and saddle shoes.

Why is it boiling hot?
Although this song is an oldie, it’s definitely a goodie. As well when this video was released, it hit MTV with a bang due to the fact that it was very risqué for the time period.

Even though it might be considered a little tame by today’s standards, the idea of a former girl friend that is now spread across the pages of a magazine for men is appealing to some.

As well, where else will you see school girls in their unmentionables in the classroom?
